About Me:
My name is Jon and I live in Manhattan Kansas. I have been making custom knives full time as a hobby and I live stream my passion for it on Twitch since 2020. I go by the twitch handle "jonSiiN", come check me out if you want to see me in action. I am always open to questions, and I will always have an answer for you (disclaimer: it may be the wrong answer). I enjoy entertaining and putting smiles on faces as well as making amazing cutlery for use in the kitchen. I stabilize my own wood handle material and I work with resin casting for even more hybrid and color options for handle material. After years of making knives and receiving tons of feed back about how sharp my blades are I decided to launch JRK Knives llc in March 2025, with a focus on sharpening service. I aim to sharpen everything needing an edge, and somethings that probably shouldn't be sharpened.
I was taught the basics of knife making from Harvey King, whom I admire more than words can express. The man is a legendary knife maker in my eyes. Like him I am a stock remover and I practice freehand knife making. That’s just a fancy way of saying I don't use a jig to create my bevels and I use a oven not a forge and anvil to make my magical works or functional art. Other than that I am always learning something new about knife making and online social media.
I am retired military police (US Army) and continued to work for the government managing the battlefield spectrum for many years as a civil servant and then retired from that also. I understand and do my best to live by the values that seem to be lost on people these days, if you know then you know. I bring those values to my knife making and now my sharpening service. If you need those values in your life then your in the right place and I am happy to meet you friend.
Lastly, knife making is my happy place, it is a a hobby for me and I tend to give a lot of them away my wife being the one whom I give them too mostly. She makes all the yummy foods, so she knows if they are good or bad. I do take a limited number of commissions you can commission one or browse my current offerings on Ko-fi. But truth be told if your wanting one of my custom creations you more likely then not need to support my content creation or directly support a knife receivable tier on my Ko-fi.
